Two options on the West Coast of Norway
World Sailing RS Safety Course - Is a course based on the fundamental safety work for sailors from World Sailing - specified in the "Offshore Special Regulations" - leading to the international certificate "ISAF/World Sailing Approved Offshore Personal Survival Course".
The course is a two-day program, developed for the Rescue Society by Simen Løvgren, and is a safety course for skippers and crew aiming to prepare themselves and their boat for all uncertainties, establish predictability, and build safety onboard - Safety increases the joy of sailing! It's just as essential for cruising sailors as it is for racers. Shetland Race is one of the regattas that also require that minimum one of the crew or skipper hold this certification.
Through theory and practice, participants gain knowledge about all necessary solutions and measures for increased personal safety, use of necessary safety equipment, and to prevent and secure the boat.
