Shetland Race
The ShetlandRace is an annual offshore sailing event held in June, celebrating the historic link between Norway and the Shetland Islands. The race starts from Bergen, Norway, and finishes in Lerwick, Shetland, covering around 190 nautical miles. It’s a test of endurance and navigation, attracting sailors who navigate challenging North Sea conditions. The event honors the WWII Shetland Bus, which used fishing boats to carry resistance fighters and supplies between occupied Norway and the UK.
